President's message: President Dearl P. Olsen

A warm welcome to all those who have opened our web page. On behalf of the Pierce County Dental Society Board of Officers and Trustees, I welcome you to another year of wonderful meetings and activities. We have been developing and improving for one hundred and twenty years.

We have a great, energetic board seasoned with experienced leaders and energized by four newly installed doctors, Eric Kvinsland, Randolph Nartea, Mostafa Norooz, and Aaron Smith. Please contact any on the board as an access point to get your concerns represented to the Society.

We have a hard working talented responsive staff at the central office headed by Cheryl Mina as the Executive Director and supported by Cindy Stephen. They are the heart and soul of all the activities we pursue. We are fortunate they will be stabilizing us as we move into the next year. We are continuing the Pierce County Dentist Care access program that we launched last year. Jennifer Bunch is coordinating the patients and dentists through the process and guiding the program as it matures and expands. Thanks to all who are involved, and a request for the rest to consider participation.

The Pierce County Dental Foundation continues to gather resources and therefore ability to promote education and services in the county. These endeavors are a tremendous asset to the goals of the Dental Society. Please offer them generous support.

As we look back we are gratified with the success and prestige that has accrued from the hard work of the many talented dentists from our county. We are thought of as one of the most active and progressive societies of the state. The view ahead brings optimism with its many opportunities. All dentists have a contribution to make, so please consider opportunities to participate on a committee, plan an activity, help with an event, do volunteer dentistry or contribute funds. As Dr Jennings said last year "This is YOUR Society"

Dearl P. Olsen
2007-2008 Pierce County Dental Society President
